The object of the society is the initiation,
support and coordination of research and the increase and spread of knowledge
in the use of lasers in dentistry and oral/maxillofacial surgery, and the
relevant equipment and techniques throughout the whole of Europe.
Through close cooperation and communication with scientific associations,
practitioners, public authorities and industry, SOLA functions as hub of
further exploitation of the European potential in science and innovation.
In response to this call it is our aim:
- to coordinate research and define uniform standards of laser application
in the fields of general dentistry and oral / maxillofacial surgery.
- to integrate practitioners into this pan-European network stimulating
dialogue between scientists and clinicians.
- to offer objective information through organizing congresses, seminars,
symposia and to provide practical guidance through an educational framework,
clinical round-tables, hands-on- workshops etc.
- to establish an open dialogue with manufacturers giving
pertinent feedback resulting from daily use in clinical settings thus
enabling them develop lasers with respect to actual practical needs.
